The power of the private sector to drive social impact was on full display at this week’s “Pathways to Success: Refugee Youth and the Czech Labour Market” conference. Held under the Danish Presidency of Council of the European Union and co-organized with Ministerstvo práce a sociálních věcí ČR, 🆙️ Úřad práce ČR ⬆️, Embassy of Denmark in Czechia, US Embassy Prague, and UNICEF, the event brought together all #CESTY programme stakeholders — government, private sector partners, civil society organizations, embassies, and refugee youth. It was energizing to hear from companies like EY, Metrostav a.s., Mastercard, T-Mobile Czech Republic a.s., Manpower, Hilton, A&O Shearman, 42 Prague and the LEGO Group. They showcased diverse, practical ways to engage refugee youth — from career days and internships to hiring and skills development programmes. Thank you for this meaningful partnership and for being #CESTY champions! The private sector partners have also clearly demonstrated that #CESTY programme is not about charity, it is about creating #SharedValue: ✅ Companies gain motivated new talent with fresh perspectives and innovative solutions ✅ Young people gain skills, experience, and confidence to build their futures ✅ Society gains from greater inclusion, cohesion, and opportunity A vital pillar of #CESTY is the protection of refugee youth from labour exploitation. We were grateful for the insights from Association for Integration and Migration and #LaStrada, whose work empowers young people to understand their rights — and supports companies in being ethical employers. We were all inspired by the stories of the young people. With the right support and determination, they are rebuilding their lives, developing skills, and stepping into jobs that match their professional aspirations. In essence, this is what #CESTY is all about: Creating opportunities. Leveling the playing field. Equipping young people with the tools and confidence to shape their future — here in Czechia today, and in Ukraine’s recovery tomorrow. 🌍Learn how to get involved at https://cesty.space/
