William Bastiaan’s Summary

After having had several finance/credit related positions with a Dutch Chemical multinational (positions are stated elsewhere), I joined a US based Receivables Management company, primarily responsible for the EMEA market. Since July 2006 this has expanded to all markets outside of the America's.
My responsibilities include Marketing, Sales, External network and managing (direct or indirect) the offices in Europe and Asia.

Besides my profession, I'm very active in the Credit Association world and here would like to mention my membership with FCIB (an association of executives in Finance, Credit and International Business) since 1986. With this association I learned many of the skills and gained knowledge. It contributed a lot to who I am today. Over the years I've been elected as a member of the Board of Directors and had the privilege to serve as the association's Chairman in 2002-2004.

Since 2005 I was also involved in building and developing FCIB China (based in Shanghai). As per February 2009 these activities have been incorporated back into FCIB Global again.

Last but not least, opportunities arise and these are to be taken up. So I became one of the Founding Board Members of Creditreform China, a member of the Creditreform International organization (the EU credit information leader), in May 2008. The legal name of the Chinese entity is 3ACredit (see www.3acredit.com).
The official opening of the Chinese entity was successfully held on September 19, 2008. It's aim is to become one of the market leaders in credit related services in China and we I am happy to conclude that we are well on our way. Although still in the building mode, its fantastic to see that within a year the company is a serious contributor of these services in or on China and now employs approx. 60 people.

William Bastiaan’s Specialties:

Credit Management, out of all angels; an international practitioner & manager on the industrial side, to a Director (with emphasis on marketing and sales) on the service side. This including areas as purchasing, credit insurance (third parties & captives), debt collection, streamlining organizations, building/directing mid-sized to larger organizations, achieving measurable goals/targets and grow business/impact/result etc. I especially enjoy it to have done that in & with different cultures.
